Meet Tyler Boyer (Co-Owner)
Before embarking on a career in animal welfare, I pursued a degree in criminal justice at Youngstown State University. However, my path took a significant turn when I began volunteering at the Animal Welfare League of Trumbull County. It was during this time that I discovered my true passion lay in working with animals rather than pursuing a career in criminal justice. This realization led me to leave my studies and take on a role as a kennel assistant at the Butler County Humane Society.
My my love for shelter work soon led to a promotion to the position of veterinary technician, where I gained invaluable experience and knowledge in animal care. However, my desire to make a more direct impact on animal welfare and the community led me to take the leap and establish Wandering Wags. Today, I am proud to be part of a business that not only fulfills my passion for animals but also allows me to contribute to their well-being in a meaningful way.
Meet Destany McCune (Co-Owner)
I began my professional journey in the animal care industry at Playful Pooch, a doggy daycare in Mars, PA. From an early age, I knew that working with animals was my calling. After a year at Playful Pooch, I was honored to be promoted from a playgroup supervisor to manager, a role I cherished for five rewarding years.
Driven by a desire to expand my knowledge and expertise in animal care, I sought new challenges and opportunities. This quest led me to the Butler County Humane Society, where I worked as a veterinary technician. My time there allowed me to deepen my understanding of animal health and welfare, further fueling my passion for making a positive impact in the lives of animals.
It was during this time that I crossed paths with Tyler, and together, we embarked on the journey of starting Wandering Wags. Today, I am grateful to be part of a business that not only allows me to pursue my lifelong passion for animal care but also enables me to share that passion with our community.
